Gentlemen I am looking for some advice. I have a carbine with a stock that needs to be replaced but I am not confident that it has the correct configuration on it. The weapon appears to be a mix. Most of the key components point to a late war production. Based on the serial number and manufacture it was made by National Postal Meter in early 1944. It has the flip style safety, a stamped adjustable site, and the IBM generic barrel which all fit late production. Although I know the sight could have been added post war. The one odd thing is that is does have the flat bolt. The current stock is early war but I would like to know if I should look for the latter design and if I should use the first or second design of barrel band? Thanks.
