Havn't had time to look at PM's yet but the situation can vary. Handstamped, as opposed to machine stamped 1's and 2's exist. Most common in NZ is a machine stamped 2 on top of the original 1, and then you can get a handstamped 2 on top of the 1. When and when this happened is of interest to collectors. Very few original M2's are found in N.Z, most are M1's converted to M2's in the period 1945 to the beginning of the Korean conflict. I have never seen a 1 on top of a 2. Serial numbers and barrel dates always help research of course. More asap. Mike.
