PostSubject: Winchester stock   Winchester stock Icon_minitimeFri Jan 14, 2011 8:21 pm

I have a Winchester Carbine that appears to have been manufactured in Jan of 1945 according to the serial number. It has a nice stock which appears to be correct but the only marking I can find is a small W in the sling well. What might this tell me about the gun?
Thanks

I'm wondering why the stock has no factory acceptance stamp or US Government acceptance stamp, just the small "W" in the sling well.

It would depend on it going through a rebuild where it very well might have had the acceptence stamp sanded off which is common.
